Darrell J. Jordan

Darrell J. Jordan has been praised for his “shining, beautiful voice” (Broadway World), his "expressive baritone and facial expressions" (The SunBreak), and has been called “the star of the show” (Columbia Heart Beat). His recent solo concert engagements have been with Amherst Early Music Festival, Odyssey Chamber Music Series, Rolla Choral Arts Society, Choral Arts Alliance of Missouri, Missouri Symphony, Southside Philharmonic Orchestra, Toledo Symphony, Thalia Symphony, Olympia Chamber Orchestra, Salt Water Music Series, Seattle Art Song Society, Harmonia Orchestra, and Seattle Choral Company. Dr. Jordan has performed nearly 50 operatic roles, some favorites being: Papageno (Die Zauberflöte), Dandini (La Cenerentola), Guglielmo (Così fan tutte), Belcore (L’elisir d’amore), and Dr. Malatesta (Don Pasquale). Opera credits include Opera West, Tacoma Opera, Wilmington Concert Opera, St. Louis Opera Collective, Haymarket Opera Company, Gateway Opera, the Show-Me Opera, Lawrence Opera, Landlocked Opera, Puget Sound Concert Opera, Seattle Modern Opera Company, Pacific Northwest Opera, the Gilbert & Sullivan Society of Seattle, Low Brow Opera, OperaBend, Landlocked Opera, Barn Opera, Opera Vermont, Vashon Opera, Opera Idaho, and Seattle Opera. Max Vale
baritone
Max Vale graduated from the University of Missouri with a bachelor’s degree in Music Performance (saxophone) and Biochemistry, in addition to receiving his medical degree from the University of Missouri School of Medicine. In undergrad, he was a part of the University Singers, Choral Union, Summer Singers, and Ars Nova. He made his operatic debut as Alcindoro in La bohème with the Show-Me Opera. He can be heard on numerous albums with the University of Missouri Concert Jazz Band. He currently lives in Seattle, working as a dermatologist at the University of Washington and his private practice, Kirkland Dermatology.
Colin Knoth
Artistic Director - bass
A native of Springfield, Missouri, Colin Knoth is an active singer and choral conductor. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Evangel University and an M.M. in Choral Conducting from the University of Missouri where he studied with Dr. R. Paul Crabb. After finishing his Master’s program in 2016, he maintained a busy schedule in Columbia for four years working with singers of all ages. He taught middle and high school choir and was an active church and community musician. In 2020, Colin relocated to Columbus, Ohio to begin work on his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Conducting at The Ohio State University. At OSU, Colin studies conducting with Dr. Robert Bode and Dr. Robert Ward and serves as the Graduate Teaching Associate for the OSU Men’s Glee Club, University Chorale, and University Chorus. In addition to Vox Nova, Colin sings professionally with the Tallgrass Chamber Choir under the direction of Dr. Jacob Narverud. Jacob Clifford
bass
Jacob Clifford has been described as having a “commanding bravado” (Columbia Heart Beat). He graduated from the University of Missouri with a Classics degree. During his time at MU, Mr. Clifford was highly involved in several of the choral ensembles, performing with University Singers, Chamber Singers, and Mizzou’s male a cappella ensemble, Add 9, as well as recording an album with Add 9. He made his opera debut with Show-Me Opera’s production of Mozart’s The Magic Flute, singing the role of Sarastro, He has been a soloist for the Choral Arts Alliance of Missouri and the 9th Street Philharmonic. He received vocal instruction from Christine Seitz. Jake and his wife, Karen, live in Columbia with their son Calvin.
Hugh Naughtin
baritone
Hugh Naughtin has a B.M. in Vocal Performance from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin, where he studied with Patrice Michaels. Since graduating in 2007, Hugh has sung in the Chicago Symphony Chorus, the Grant Park Chorus, and the Chicago-based a cappella ensemble, Bella Voce. He currently sings with with the Grammy Award-winning Kansas City Chorale. He works for the University of Kansas as a research project coordinator at the Center for Public Partnerships and Research. Hugh resides in Lawrence, Kansas, with his wife and fellow Vox-er, Rachel Naughtin and their son, Clive Emmet.
Jeremy Padalino

Jeremy Padalino is a promising young vocalist and choral conductor currently pursuing a Master’s in Music in Choral Conducting under the tutelage of R. Paul Crabb. He was recently appointed as the new Director of Music Ministry at Unitarian Universalist Church of Columbia in which he directs both adult and youth ensembles. Performing in and around the mid-Missouri sphere, Padalino has established himself as a reliable and precise musician, earning him a seat in the award-winning ensemble Vox Nova as well as singing in several opera productions in various bass roles.
